Kalamandapam Art Academy - Classical Brilliance
Smt. Mrinalini Sadananda is, today, recognized
internationally as an exceptionally talented dancer of Kuchipudi Style of
classical Indian dance, an able illustrious teacher and an excellent
choreographer. She founded Kalamandapam in the Washington Metropolitan Area,
where rigorous training is imparted in theory and practice of Kuchipudi.
The Academy has staged several well known group productions - "Bharat Sambhavam",
The Advent and Glory of India, at prestigious John F Kennedy Center of
Performing Arts in Washington DC, "Sarvam Vishnu Mayam" in Beltsville,
Maryland, "Sambhavami Yuge Yuge" in Gaitherburg, Maryland, Ramayanam, the
greatest epic of all times, at Sri Shiva Vishnu Temple in Maryland, to name a
few. The Academy will be performing a classical piece in Kuchipudi Style.

NATYAM - Unfolding of a Timeless Dance
NATYAM group is based in Washington D.C. /
Maryland / Virginia area. All of NAYTAM's dancers are highly successful
full-time professionals who despite their busy schedules find time to pursue
their passion for dance.
NATYAM performs at Charity events, Conventions,
Education programs, Cultural shows, Competitions, Festivals, Religious programs
and Wedding receptions. Their performances include Classical Indian dances,
Bollywood Dance mixes, Bhangra, Garba, Hip-Hop and Flamenco to name a few. The
group will be performing semi-classical and contemporary dances.

Shuchi Agrawal - Dancing Elegance
Shuchi is a working professional in Washington D.C. who has
been trained in various disciplines of Indian dancing under eminent Gurus.
She is professionally trained in classical Kathak Style of Lucknow Gharana. She has
performed for Doordarshan T.V. India, festival celebrations and North-East
American dance competitions. She had the privilege to perform in front of
former Ambassador of India in US, Mayor of Maryland and President of University
of Virginia. Shuchi will be performing a classical and contemporary dance
piece.
Jaishree Sankaran
Jaishree Sankaran has been trained in both south and north Indian classical
style of music. She started learning music at a tender age of 6 from her father
Dr. P.R.Krishnamoorthy. She holds a bachelors degree in Business Management from
the Bangalore University and a Masters degree in Carnatic Music at the University
of Madras. She was trained in Hindustani classical vocal by Shri Ullal in Bangalore.
Jaishree was the recipient of the National talent scholarship for carnatic music by
the Indian Ministry of Cultural Affairs (Govt. of India) for 7 years.
She was also the recipient of the prestigious South Asian Association for Regional
Co-operation (SAARC) Award in a Ghazal competition where she competed against singers
from various SAARC countries. Jaishree stood first in the Karnataka state level Carnatic
Concert Competition organized by the State Govt of Karnataka.
She also has also sung in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada movies. Some of the
noteworthy movies she has sung for are Appappa Entha Huduga (Kannada), Five Star (Tamil)
and Anandam (Telugu).
Currently, she is teaching Carnatic Classical, Semi Classical and Light Music as part of
the faculty at the Ragamalika Music School in Northern Virginia. She is also learning
Carnatic Music From Mrs.Maragatham Ramaswamy and pusuing Hindustani Vocal Music under the
guidance of Sri. Vishwas Shirgaonkar.
Rohini Ravada
Singing since the age of 2, Rohini Ravada has trained in South Indian Classical Music for
over 19 years.
After moving to the United States with her family at age 14, Rohini refused to give up her
music world. She now continues to learn music from Mrs. Maragatham Ramaswamy, who "helps me
learn how to play my voice like an instrument and truly understand the beauty of every note
that I sing.
Rohini has also had the opportunity to accompany the world renowed musicians Ravi Shankar and
Anoushka Shankar on stage at The Kennedy Center, Princeton University and George Mason University.
Some of her accomplishments also include performing at various cultural events with exceptionally
talented musicians such as Mr. Raja Govindarajan, Shekhar Pathak, and Surinder Sharma of the
Texas area, Vishwas and Manish Bhand of the Washington DC Area. She also released a Telugu CD
at the age of 16. An award-winning participant at the Cleveland Thyagaraja Music festival,
she has also performed innumerable times around the Washington D.C. area for organizations such
as Art of Living and charitable concerts for Mata Amritanandamayi.
