While serving destitute elderly people in Goverdhan, Mathura through its food camp, UMANG has realized the need to set up a shelter to provide a place to stay to homeless destitute elderly people in that area.

The budget of the project is $40000 to provide shelter to 50 people in that area.

UMANG asked the caretaker(Reena) of "Kshetra" food camp to share her first hand experience about the basic needs of destitute and elderly people.

UMANG: UMANG has been providing food to 35 destitute elderly people for 3 years. What other essential things do they need.

Reena: "The elderly destitute people in the food camp are devoid of their basic needs. They live on the streets as they do not have a place to stay. They have to struggle the winter,summer and rain all the time. If they can be provided with the place to stay it will help them a lot. Additionaly, if Umang can meet their basic health-care needs, it will improve their lives significantly."
